The next cleaning shift starts with how the previous one ends. A dirty tank, debris caught under a squeegee or an overlooked warning can leave the next operator with avoidable problems. A clear handover routine helps teams notice these issues before putting the machine back into use.
Use this checklist as a general guide for trained operators. Your particular Kuarbaa machine’s operating manual takes priority, including its maintenance intervals, approved cleaning products and safety procedures. For help identifying the correct documentation, visit Kuarbaa Resources & Support.
Move to a designated maintenance area with a level surface. Switch off, remove the key where fitted and apply the parking brake if equipped. Follow the manufacturer’s isolation procedure before touching brushes, pads or other components; switching off alone may not provide the required isolation.
Use the protective equipment specified for the task and the chemicals involved. Keep people clear of wet areas. Operators should perform only the maintenance their training and manual permit. Leave repairs and electrical work to qualified service personnel. These precautions reflect the operator-safety approach in the Tennant T2 manual.
Drain the recovery tank through the designated outlet. Use your site’s approved wastewater disposal point and follow local requirements for the contaminants collected. Do not discharge cleaning wastewater into a storm drain or outdoors. If disposal arrangements are unclear, ask the site supervisor before draining.
Rinse the recovery tank using the method and water temperature permitted by the manual. Remove loose debris from accessible collection trays or strainers. Drain and rinse the solution tank as instructed, rather than leaving unused cleaning mixture indefinitely.
Check accessible lids, seals and drain caps for dirt or damage. Refit components correctly and follow the manual’s tank-drying and storage instructions. Tank cleaning and debris removal are common maintenance tasks described in Kärcher’s equipment-care guidance.
With the machine safely isolated, inspect the cleaning tools. Look for trapped grit, thread, uneven wear and damaged attachments. Clean removable pads or brushes only by an approved method. Replace worn components according to the manufacturer’s criteria; a calendar reminder alone cannot determine their condition.
Wipe accessible squeegee blades and look for embedded debris, tears or worn edges. Follow the manual when removing, rotating or replacing a blade. Avoid improvised adjustments intended to compensate for damaged parts. Store the scrub head and squeegee in their specified positions.
Cleaning pads and brushes, wiping blades and inspecting wear are established routine tasks in the Tennant T2 maintenance instructions.
Identify which filters and screens are operator-serviceable, then follow their specified intervals and cleaning methods. Not every filter needs daily removal. Do not operate with a missing filter or bypass a float shut-off device.
Use only cleaning products approved for your machine, its cleaning system and the floor surface. Measure dilution accurately and follow the label and safety data sheet. Never mix cleaning chemicals, particularly bleach with acids or ammonia. Some specialised scrubbing systems require different tank contents from conventional detergent cleaning, so do not assume every machine uses the same mixture. The Tennant T5 manual illustrates why system-specific instructions matter.
Battery care depends on the installed battery type and charger. Flooded lead-acid, sealed AGM or gel, and lithium batteries must not share a generic watering or charging routine. Do not add water to sealed or lithium batteries. Any watering of serviceable flooded batteries must follow the battery manufacturer’s procedure and be performed by trained personnel.
Use the specified compatible charger and follow instructions for charging conditions, ventilation and connection order. Do not open a battery pack or change charger settings to resolve a fault. The Tennant T350 manual separates maintenance-free and flooded-battery care.
If a battery is damaged, leaking, swollen or unusually hot, stop use and charging, keep people clear and arrange qualified service. Follow site emergency procedures if there is smoke or fire.
Wipe exterior surfaces without spraying water into controls, electrical parts or the charger. Do not pressure-wash the machine. Check the surrounding floor for leaks or wet patches and keep warning signs in place until the area is safe.
Record the machine ID, completed checks, defects and who needs to act. Mark unsafe equipment out of service. For unresolved problems, contact Kuarbaa with the model, serial number, symptoms and any displayed fault code. A specific report gives the next person a useful starting point.

Turn a floor scrubber quotation into a clear purchase specification. Check access, cleaning performance, batteries, accessories, documentation and delivery responsibilities before ordering.

Choose a floor scrubber around your cleaning route, access limits and available working time. Here is how to compare walk-behind and ride-on machines before buying.
